The Mission of the eMedicus Institutional Review Board is to Protect the Rights and Welfare of the Human Subjects participating in research activities.
We are challenged by our sense of responsibility to enhance the quality of human life by increasing knowledge through research.
To accomplish our Mission, we strive to:
- Ensure that the risks of scientific advancement never outweigh the value of human life.
- Ensure the regulatory compliance and the ethical conduct of research, in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations Title 21 CFR 56 and Title 45 CFR 46, by continuous monitoring and oversight.
- Promote the concept that all research should be conducted and guided by three fundamental ethical principles for human research as identified in the Belmont Report: Respect for Persons, Beneficence, and Justice.
